When planning a brand photography shoot, one of the most important decisions you’ll make is location. The right location doesn’t just look good, it sets the tone, supports your brand message and helps your audience instantly understand who you are and what you offer.
As a brand photographer, I often say that location is part of your visual storytelling. It influences the mood, the colour palette, the energy of the images and how professional or approachable your brand feels.
In this blog post, I’m sharing the five most effective locations for brand photography, along with guidance on how to choose the right one for your business.
Why Location Matters in Brand Photography
Your brand photos are often the first impression someone has of your business, whether that’s on your website, Instagram, LinkedIn or marketing materials.
The location you choose will:
- Set the visual tone of your brand
- Influence how premium, relaxed, creative or professional your business feels
- Help your ideal client recognise themselves in your brand
- Elevate your images so they feel intentional rather than generic
When done well, location supports your brand values and strengthens your message without you having to say a word.
1. My Photography Studio
Of course, as a brand photographyer, I have a dedicated photography studio is a fantastic option if you’re looking for clean, polished and timeless brand imagery. It’s also great if you don’t have a phyical location for your business and would like to use the various set ups I have including a desk space, leather sofa for lifestyle shots along with editorial feel studio set ups. Everything is intentionally styled so studio images are incredibly versatile and easy to reuse across platforms.

2. A Hired Studio Space
Hiring a studio gives us access to unique interiors, texutures and layouts that can elevate your brand visuals even further. A hired stuido can mimic a luxury home, a modern office, a creative workspace or a lifestyle setting. As your brand photographer, I help you choose a space that aligns with your brand colours, audience and personality.
Grace from Made with Grace chose to have her brand shoot in a hired studio space in London called Crixus Studios which is a character studio in Woolwich Dockyard.

3. A Co-Working Space
Co-working spaces are an excellent option for corporate photography and brand shoots that need to feel modern, professional and credible. They work particularly well as they often provide neutral interiors, natural light and boardrooms, desks and communal areas. The result is imagery that feels authentic, professional and aligned with a growing, established business. I have previously used Patch for my Mini Brand Shoot sessions. This is Chelmsford’s neighbourhood workspace which use to be Grays Brewery so it has beautiful heritage feature.

4. Client Premises
Photographing you in your own workspace is one of the most powerful ways to create authentic brand photography. This option is perfect if you want to show the real behind-the-scenes of your business and want your audience to see where the magic happens. These images build trust because they show you in your natural environment doing what you do best.

5. Outdoor Locations
Outdoor brand photography is a beautiful way to add movement, energy and personality to your images. They can feel relaxed and natural and add variety to your brand gallery. Whether it’s an urban setting, greenery or architectural backdrops, outdoor locations can bring a sense of ease and authenticity to your brand visuals.

How to Choose the Right Location for Your Brand
When deciding on a location, ask youself:
- Does this reflect my brand visuals?
- Will my ideal client feel connected to this space?
- Does it support the story I want my images to tell?
- Will these photos still feel relevant in six months’ time?
The best brand photography locations are not chosen randomly, they are chosen strategically.
