What I Learnt From Posting Consistently as a Brand Photographer

I did it!

I recently set myself the challenge of posting consistently online. I posted once a day, every day, for 30 days sharing all things a brand photographer does, tips and advice. I had created a “30-Day Content Planner” for my clients and students of my “Visible in 6-Weeks” Course. Here’s what I learnt.

1. Consistency Builds Momentum

Showing up every day gave me a rhythm. The more consistent I was, the easier I found to do it. I also found that I got more ideeas and inspriation with each post I created.

2. Serving & Community

I received so many DMs thanking me for sharing tips and insights. I even had conversations spark up with people I hadn’t spoken with for years which helped me reconnect and strengthen my online community.

3. Accountability Creates Follow-Through

Having a clear goal (and a bit of accountability) meant that I stayed on track and didn’t give up, even on days where I didn’t feel like posting. I had created a “30-Day Content Planner” for my audience and it felt only right that I did it myself!

4. Visibility Grows with Action

I found the proof was in the analytics and posting consistently really did make a difference to my reach and engagement. It was a reminder that “what gets measured, gets managed” (a Tony Robbins quote if I recall correctly). I could see what was working and what wasn’t working in real time and was able to adjust accordingly.

5. Inspiration is Contagious

By being visible, I inspired others to show up too. I had comments and DMs from people saying that I had sparked them to show up more too.

If anyone asks, I highly recommend doing the 30-day challenge!

In the planner you get 4 full weeks’ worth of prompts. In Week 1 it focuses on Laying the Foundations, Week 2 Building Connection and Authority, Week 3 Driving Engagement and Sales and finally Week 4 Ramping up visibility and conversions. So you can show up strategically and consistently on social media even if you currently have no plan, no time and don’t feel ready yet.
